Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and staff member to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing insurance claims and ensuring accurate processing of medical records. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. The new Staff member will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate smooth operations within our medical office. Responsibilities Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments. Maintain and update patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their insurance inquiries and claims status. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for managed care requirements. Utilize ICD-10 and CPT coding for accurate claim submissions. Assist in the organization of medical office operations, ensuring efficient workflow. Handle correspondence related to insurance claims, including appeals and denials. Requirements Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Familiarity with managed care processes and insurance verification procedures is preferred. Proficient understanding of medical terminology and record management. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. Proficiency in using office software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
