The Claims Administration Associate is responsible for maintaining Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) files, providing excellent service to customers and agents, supporting the check distribution process by obtaining signatures, making copies and mailing/faxing/e-mail records as requested, preparing and balancing monthly employer statements and other administrative duties as assigned. The Claims Administration Associates work closely with the Claims Examiners therefore teamwork and problem-solving skills are required in this position. What You'll Do Provide excellent face-to-face and telephone service to customers and agents. Service policies with an added emphasis on extraordinary service to agents and customers. Create and maintain TDI claim filing system including, but not limited to, confirming the customer has an active account (s) with PGL, verifying other coverages and group/account number, assigning new claim cases to TDI examiners on a timely basis, Read and interpret documents such as insurance policies, contracts, operating and maintenance instructions. Understand and reperform calculation of TDI benefit payments. Handle daily ACH and check distribution process including, but is not limited to, verifying accuracy and completeness of claim checks, obtaining signatures from authorized signers for ACH/checks above minimum limits, making copies of checks upon request of employers (to mail, fax, or email). Assist in balancing and preparing the mailing of monthly FICA statements to employers with employees who received TDI benefit payments. Prepare letters to claimants, employers, attorneys and insurance companies. Maintain all files in storage (hard copy and microfilm) in compliance with the Company's retention policy. Perform other administrative duties as assigned. What We're Looking For High School diploma. One (1) year of work experience in an office environment. Demonstrated ability in providing exemplary customer service via telephone conversation and in person. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate policy information with the public, agents and personnel at all levels of the organization. Basic knowledge of general business/office administration practices. Well-organized and attentive to detail. Must be able to prioritize work and meet critical deadlines. Ability to be flexible and responsive to unexpected demands in the workplace. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations effectively. Proven ability to calculate and apply basic mathematical formulas. Ability to operate a personal computer and other office equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
