Job Description
Associate Adjuster Inside Property (Hybrid)- Worcester, MA + Howell, MI 6 months contract to hire Pay rate: $24.00/hour
Responsibilities:
- Must have or secure and maintain appropriate states adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits
- Analyze, evaluate, negotiate and help settle claims of minimal complexity
- Uses discretion and independent judgment in claim handling
- Possesses basic functional knowledge and skills reflective of study and/or on job development
- Phone contact with customers is required to confirm cause, coverage, liability and damages
- Responds to customers in a polite, professional and empathetic manner, matching their needs with services
- Identifies possibly suspicious claims and may work with the Special Investigations Unit to resolve and negotiate settlements
- May take recorded statements
- May be required to have and maintain sufficient home-based internet connection
- May be part of a formal training program
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or working towards your bachelor's degree is strongly preferred
- Typically 1 -3 years of experience in service, finance, or hospitality industry preferred
- Self-starter
- Has an energetic, positive and professional attitude
- Proficiency in using and toggling between multiple computer applications, dual screens, and MS Office products (Word/Excel); Independent use of provided resources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills using a variety of tools including phone, email, a core claims system and vendor platforms
- Seeks to collaborate and promotes inclusion and respect
- Has good judgment and makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner in the best interest of the company and policy holder
- Thinks critically and anticipates, identifies and develops solutions to problems in a timely manner; operates with latitude for un-reviewed action or decision

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods (75%-90%)
