Role Description The Licensed Insurance Agent role at Bankers Life in Los Alamitos, CA is a full-time, on-site position focused on helping clients prepare for and navigate retirement. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with prospective and existing customers, conducting needs-based assessments, and recommending appropriate insurance and retirement products such as life, health, annuity, and supplemental insurance solutions. The agent will develop and maintain a personal book of business, follow up on leads provided by the company, and actively prospect within the local community. Additional tasks include explaining policy features, assisting clients with applications and claims, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory and company standards, and participating in ongoing training and professional development. Licensed Insurance Agents are expected to collaborate with team members, uphold ethical sales practices, and provide clear, empathetic guidance to individuals and families. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Insurance Sales and Insurance, with the ability to present and explain life, health, and retirement-related products clearly and compliantly. Experience in Insurance Brokerage or working with multiple carriers, including understanding of policy options and suitability for diverse client needs. Foundational knowledge of Finance, retirement planning concepts, and basic investment principles to support client discussions about long-term goals. Strong Customer Service skills, including active listening, relationship building, and the ability to handle sensitive financial and personal information with professionalism. Active state insurance license (or willingness and ability to obtain one within required time frames); additional licenses such as securities or advisory credentials are a plus. Effective verbal and written communication skills, comfort with one-on-one consultations, and the ability to explain complex information in simple terms. Results-oriented mindset with strong organization, time management, and follow-up skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team. High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to regulatory compliance; prior experience in sales, financial services, or a client-facing role is preferred.
