About This Role:

The Reinsurance Analyst is pivotal to the company's risk strategy, analyzing reinsurance contracts and pinpointing critical trends across the Hippo and Spinnaker reinsurance program. Reporting to the Manager, Reinsurance, this role brings a strong background in statistical analysis to shape key decisions and translate complex data into strategic actions. In collaboration with Finance, Underwriting, Corporate Risk, CAT modeling/analytics, and Claims, the Analyst ensures reinsurance practices align with corporate goals and supports the Manager, Reinsurance in the placement process to help secure optimal coverage terms for the company.

What You'll Do:

Collaborate with the Reinsurance Manager and Program Managers to support and facilitate the placement of reinsurance for Hippo corporate and Spinnaker program business Serve as a reinsurance subject matter expert, acting as a liaison across the organization, collaborating with finance, underwriting, corporate risk, CAT modeling/analytics, claims, etc. Assist with the drafting, review, and execution of ceded reinsurance contracts, flagging discrepancies between negotiated terms and contract language ahead of Manager's sign off. Monitor portfolio-level exposures, respond to events, and coordinate modeling both gross and net exposures for various programs Develop and present complex ad-hoc reinsurance reports for executive management review Design and deliver market presentations for corporate reinsurance in partnership with reinsurance brokers, demonstrating quantitative analysis and critical thinking skills Coordinate with Accounting, Reinsurance Operations, and Program Managers for document review, term implementation, and process coordination Drive the successful fulfillment of mandatory state data submissions

Monitor and evaluate the financial strength and participation of Hippo and Spinnaker's reinsurers

What You Bring:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or Economics

3-6 years of industry experience/expertise (reinsurer, insurance carrier, or consulting firm)

Must possess a foundational understanding of reinsurance, P&C insurance, operations, and systems

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Excellent communication skills

Exceptional analytical, technical, and problem-solving

Proven experience leading projects and demonstrating follow-through and execution Nice to

Have:

Reinsurance underwriting experience, including assumed treaty or facultative business

Program or MGA underwriting experience, including evaluation of delegated underwriting authority

Experience working with underwriting data and analytical tools
