Auto Insurance Underwriter

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Auto Insurance Underwriter to join our brokerage team. The Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating auto insurance risks, pricing policies accurately, and ensuring compliance with carrier guidelines and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in maintaining profitable growth while delivering competitive and compliant insurance solutions to clients. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and underwrite personal and/or commercial auto insurance submissions in accordance with carrier guidelines Analyze risk factors including driving history, vehicle usage, claims history, and coverage requirements Determine appropriate coverage terms, limits, deductibles, and premiums Collaborate with brokers, agents, and carriers to obtain necessary underwriting information Issue quotes, bind coverage, and process policy endorsements and renewals Ensure underwriting decisions comply with internal policies, carrier requirements, and regulatory standards Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, and risk trends Identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling coverage where appropriate Maintain accurate documentation and records in underwriting systems Support audits, reviews, and reporting as required Required Qualifications 1+ years of underwriting experience in auto insurance (brokerage experience preferred) Strong knowledge of personal and/or commercial auto insurance products Familiarity with underwriting guidelines, rating tools, and policy forms Excellent analytical, decision-making, and attention-to-detail skills Strong communication skills with the ability to explain underwriting decisions clearly Proficiency with underwriting systems, CRM platforms, and MS Office tools Bilingual in

From $20.00 per hour
