BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
Supports the Underwriter in managing new business, policy renewals, and post-issuance transactions within a designated territory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collect, confirm, evaluate, and request additional information from agency partners and other sources to provide support for Underwriter's risk assessment and decision-making. Ensure the efficient and accurate rating, binding, and processing of new and renewal policies, cancellations, and endorsements, adhering to quoted terms and conditions as well as company guidelines, established best practices, and within the specified scope of authority. Conduct comprehensive renewal preparation activities, including the review of forthcoming renewals, updating relevant documentation, and collaborating with underwriters to request and monitor the progress of renewal submissions. Serve as the primary contact for designated agencies within an assigned territory, promptly responding to inquiries about policies, endorsements, and other questions, while also forwarding relevant requests to the underwriter or appropriate staff to address the agency partner's needs that fall outside the Assistant Underwriter's authority. Ensure policy files are systematically maintained, audit file documentation is complete and accurate, and discrepancies or missing information are resolved through effective communication with agency partners or fellow employees. Engage in continuous education and pursue professional development or relevant certifications that align with the requirements of the position. Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of experience in insurance, underwriting, or administrative support. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in computer applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint) with the ability to learn new systems and deliver highly accurate results. Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced setting. Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards. Sound planning and organizational skills. Proven team player, with an enthusiastic and positive personality Ability to travel up to 10%
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or bachelor's degree - Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in primary casualty coverage lines.
Insurance Certification:
INS 21, 22, 23 or relevant insurance coursework and/or insurance related designations such as
CPCU EOE
