full-time A leading specialty insurance organization is seeking a Senior Reinsurance Underwriter to join its Accident & Health underwriting team. This individual will play an important role in expanding specialty product offerings, developing underwriting strategies, managing delegated underwriting relationships, and driving profitable growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced A&H underwriter with strong knowledge of HMO, Provider Excess, Managed Care, and/or related specialty reinsurance products who is interested in having a meaningful impact on the growth of a developing portfolio.

Berkeley Heights, NJ area | Hybrid (2-3 days/week) Key Responsibilities Lead underwriting initiatives for existing and emerging specialty products, including Managed Care and Provider Excess. Develop and implement underwriting strategies designed to support sustainable growth and portfolio profitability. Evaluate new and renewal opportunities, assessing risk, pricing considerations, terms, conditions, and overall account quality. Manage relationships with MGU/program partners and monitor portfolio performance and profitability. Establish and maintain strong relationships with brokers and other distribution partners to generate quality business opportunities. Collaborate closely with Actuarial, Claims, and other underwriting stakeholders when evaluating new and renewal business. Present and discuss significant underwriting opportunities with internal review teams and senior leadership. Contribute to the development of new markets, products, programs, and underwriting guidelines. Monitor assigned accounts and portfolios to ensure underwriting objectives and profitability targets are achieved. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Approximately 10+ years of underwriting experience within HMO, Provider Excess, Managed Care, or related A&H/reinsurance products. Experience with Employer Stop Loss is a plus. Familiarity with relevant underwriting systems and technology platforms is preferred. Established relationships with brokers and other industry distribution partners. Experience managing MGU, program, or delegated underwriting relationships. Demonstrated ability to assess complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions. Strong communication, relationship management, and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively across Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, and other business functions.
