Commercial Lines Underwriter Huntingdon, PA 1 DAYS AGO 22665075 Summary Huntingdon, PA Hybrid Competitive Salary 4 Years Experience Bachelor's degree No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Full-Time Description The underwriter, under general supervision, is responsible for the profitability, growth and retention of a book of business within a designated territory working independently within an assigned authority level. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include gathering, analyzing, and evaluating risk exposure through appropriate documentation; applying knowledge and understanding of coverage forms, rating plans and adequate pricing through proper classification, accuracy of information and adherence to company underwriting standards; conducting continuous profit and growth analysis of assigned territory and agencies; proactively seeking to retain key renewals by working closely with agents and internal business partners; providing internal and external customer service; partnering with Marketing to create a business plan for assigned territory with an emphasis on agency planning, strong renewal retention and a profitable new business pipeline; and performing miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience combination; proficient interpersonal relations and communications skills (both written and verbal); demonstrated problem solving, analytical, and time management skills; essential knowledge of the commercial lines underwriting function; strong customer service orientation; moderate computer knowledge and math skills; minimum of four years' experience in related position; highly motivated and results-oriented; and industry designation of AINS, AU, or CPCU, preferred. •Applicants with differing levels of experience are welcome to apply.•Full benefits package, including health, dental reimbursement, vision, 401(k) and Roth 401(k), and PTO, starts the first of the month following employment.
