Member FDIC | Equal Housing Lender Position summary: Responsible for performing various duties to support the SBA Department; underwriting new money and modifications to existing commercial customer; coordinating with other departments within the bank; complying with operating policies and procedures established for this position. Reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.Qualifications required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; or equivalent work experience Ability to work in a team environment Strong computer skills (MS Office, etc.) High degree of attention to detail and ability to multitask 3-5 years current, demonstrated experience as a SBA underwriter Ability to research, read and correctly apply agency and company guidelines Understand how Conventional, and SBA guidelines relate to internal and SBA SOP's guidelines required Strong understanding of commercial underwriting guidelines.Essential functions and responsibilities:
Reviews and evaluates information on SBA loan documentation to determine if borrower and/or property meet loan standards Completes a thorough analysis of loan files to determine compliance with company, SBA and Bank, and government guidelines and standards Evaluates the entire credit package and collateral for SBA loans and ultimately ensure an SBA eligibility loan product Meets or exceed established production goals and quality standards Provides superior customer service to internal and external customers Be available to processors and loan officers for general guideline interpretations and questions on specific loan files Communicates decision (approval, suspense, denial) on loans to appropriate parties both verbally and in writing Demonstrates and promotesMeridian Bank's Core Values:
