Competitive base salary + bonus + comprehensive benefits About the Opportunity A well-established, financially strong insurance organization is seeking an experienced Construction Underwriter to join its specialty underwriting team. This role is focused on evaluating and underwriting complex construction-related risks while partnering closely with brokers and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Underwrite and analyze construction-related risks including general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and construction projects Evaluate submissions, determine pricing, coverage structures, terms, and conditions in accordance with underwriting authority Manage a profitable book of business while balancing growth and risk discipline Build and maintain strong relationships with retail and wholesale brokers Collaborate with claims, loss control, and actuarial teams as needed Monitor market trends and adjust underwriting strategy accordingly Ensure compliance with internal underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements Qualifications 3-7+ years of commercial underwriting experience, with a strong focus on construction risks Solid knowledge of construction-related coverages (GL, WC, excess/umbrella, professional, or builder's risk preferred) Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple submissions and priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Bachelor's degree required; CPCU or progress toward professional designations is a plus Why This Role Join a stable, growth-oriented insurance platform Work with a collaborative and experienced underwriting leadership team Competitive compensation and benefits package Opportunity for long-term career growth and underwriting authority progression
