Berkley Prime Transportation provides primary auto liability, auto physical damage and general liability to a broad array of trucking operations. We offer superior service to our partner brokers and agents and provide a quality insurance solution to standard and best-in-class truck fleets.Responsibilities:
The Underwriter will contribute to the growth and profitability of Berkley Prime Transportation by achieving underwriting and premium goals through effective risk selection, pricing, and account management using data and analytics. Key functions include but are not limited to the following: Review new and renewal commercial insurance risks and determine accurate classification of business, appropriate policy contract forms, and pricing of risk. Review and act upon pertinent risk information such as loss control reports, motor vehicle reports (MVRs), loss runs, and financial statements. Manage the book of business for an assigned agency territory, including achieving predetermined premium goals and profitability objectives. Conduct audits on agency business and assure compliance with underwriting best practices. Effectively communicate company underwriting philosophy to agencies. Cultivate effective agency relationships; conduct agency visits and communicate expectations. Make recommendations for agency actions when appropriate. Provide guidance to Assistant Underwriters on technical underwriting matters, including coverages, cancellations, exclusions, endorsements, and non-renewal actions. Assist in developing new products, coverage enhancements, and procedures that drive production and processing efficiency.Qualifications:

3+ years of related commercial auto underwriting experience (trucking preferred). Education Requirement Bachelor's Degree. CPCU designation preferred or in process of obtaining.Additional Company Details:
