Job Description

The Automotive Asset Manager is responsible for the oversight, administration, and management of a private collection of luxury, exotic, classic, and specialty vehicles. This role manages the full lifecycle of automotive assets, including acquisitions, sales, registration, titling, insurance coordination, maintenance scheduling, vendor relationships, transportation logistics, and compliance. The ideal candidate has experience managing high-value vehicle collections with exceptional attention to detail and discretion. Key Responsibilities Manage a private fleet of luxury, exotic, classic, collector, and specialty vehicles. Coordinate the purchase, sale, and trade of vehicles, including market research, valuations, negotiations, and documentation. Oversee vehicle registration, titling, renewals, taxes, emissions inspections, and DMV compliance across multiple states. Administer insurance programs, including policy reviews, coverage updates, claims coordination, and communication with brokers and carriers. Schedule and track routine maintenance, repairs, detailing, restorations, and warranty work. Develop relationships with dealerships, auction houses, restoration shops, mechanics, transport companies, and specialty vendors. Coordinate enclosed transport and logistics for vehicle deliveries, auctions, shows, and events. Maintain comprehensive records for each vehicle, including service history, ownership documents, appraisals, insurance certificates, and maintenance schedules. Monitor vehicle values and recommend opportunities for acquisition or disposition based on market trends. Prepare annual operating budgets and track maintenance, insurance, storage, and operating expenses. Coordinate licensing and compliance requirements for collector and specialty vehicles. Assist with event preparation for car shows, exhibitions, and family office functions involving the collection. Ensure all vehicles are maintained in show-ready or operational condition. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience. 5+ years of experience managing luxury, collector, exotic, or corporate vehicle fleets. Strong knowledge of vehicle registration, titling, insurance, and DMV processes. Familiarity with classic and exotic automobile markets and valuation methods. Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, or private collections preferred. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. Strong organizational skills with meticulous recordkeeping abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and asset management software. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred Experience Experience with multi-state vehicle registration and tax compliance. Knowledge of auction platforms and collector car marketplaces. Familiarity with specialty insurance programs for collector and exotic automobiles. Understanding of vehicle restoration projects and maintenance planning.
