Accounting Accounting Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Portfolio Manager position is primarily responsible for managing and providing support to the Commercial Loan Officer(s). Responsibilities include maintaining and developing relationships with existing and prospective clients through the effective management of their portfolio as well as responding to client requests and concerns. Responsibilities include assisting with underwriting loan proposals, securing credit approvals, completing preliminary and final due-diligence items to adequately secure loan, and submitting loans for funding upon closing. This Portfolio Manager position will also support the branch Treasury Officer and assist with opening deposit accounts and performing light treasury work. Position is governed by applicable federal and state regulatory requirements. Responsibilities are performed under limited supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works with the Officer to manage an established loan portfolio by providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and resolving customer issues. Reviews and responds to customer requests for new accounts, loan advances, assists customers with processing loan payments, telephone transfers, and other account maintenance to ensure high level of customer service is maintained. Works with the Officer to assess the credit risk of the loan by reviewing loan proposals, preparing and updating credit memos and related documentation to determine approval of the loan requests. Collaborates with the Officer and customers to manage the renewal process. Works with loan officer to ensure loan proposal packages are compliant with respect to bank loan policy, credit policy and regulatory requirements. Ensures all required documentation is obtained, reviewed and screened for compliance with these policies. Reviews all entity documentation to determine account signers and borrowing authority. Orders appraisals, credit reports, title reports, flood determinations, Environmental Data Reports (EDR), UCC searches, Geo-codes, or other documents as required depending on the loan type. Works to ensure all files are ready by their scheduled closing date by ensuring documents are accurate with required dates, signatures, and other relevant data set by the established closing date. Conducts loan closings as needed. Performs quality control by auditing the files to ensure all required documentation is included, verifies accuracy of information, and obtains missing documentation, signatures, dates and other relevant data. Submits loan files for booking. Works within bank policy to ensure all guidelines and policies are followed. Will work to clear exceptions for the Officers Portfolio, communicating with customers by requesting updated financials or other documents required to maintain the loan files. Works with the Officer and customers to resolve overdrawn deposit accounts and collect delinquent loan payments. Stays up to date on all applicable policies and procedures governing lending and deposit products and services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skill/Ability Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Advanced analytical skills, knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Strong working knowledge of commercial lending loan documentation, loan policy and regulations. Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment and maintain the highest level of confidentiality with information relating to the bank, bank customers, officers, directors, investors, and employees. Basic knowledge of credit underwriting. Ability to render decisions within policy guidelines. Adaptability - ability to adapt to fast pace and rapid changes. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to detail. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Equivalent Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or related business field and a minimum of three years of experience in a commercial lending environment; or, Five years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating proficiency in commercial loan underwriting & processing skills.
