Asset Manager

Asset Manager:
MJ Civil We are looking for a talented Asset Manager who has a passion for quality civil construction. This position is responsible for managing the logistics of all tools and equipment necessary to support field electrical construction activities throughout the region. What You'll Do- Coordinate all equipment moves and associated permitting around the Region. For equipment moves outside or through the area, coordinates with other regions and the MJE Leasing Department to ensure efficiency. o OS/OW permitting needs for MJ Civil, and backup for MJE as a whole o Licensing/Registration requirements o Understand Interstate, State, County, etc., permit requirements
Road Use Agreements:
Project RUA | Haul Routes | Weight Restrictions- Maintain visibility of equipment location and status o Power units and trailers o Create Verizon connect fleets o JDE updates, reviews, and transfers
- Assist with maintaining the equipment catalog o Weights & Measures o Equipment Images o VIN/SN o Dimensions
- Implement a Transportation Scheduling System including o Live-updated trucking board o Tool requests o Equipment requests o Track internal and 3rd party haulers
- Track and monitor asset (equipment and tools) usage throughout the Region in coordination with Project Management to optimize utilization and ensure accurate billing.
- For equipment requests, act as the single point of contact for Project Managers and Field personnel. Fill these equipment requests with thorough communication throughout the company and leasing department to efficiently select the best choice for the equipment (i.e. Moving MJE or Quanta owned equipment, short term local rental, long term rent-to-own)
- Monitor and assess the needs for DOT improvement such as vehicle maintenance, permitting, or employee training.
- While working within the guidelines of the Leasing Department maintenance program, act as a regional point of contact for major maintenance and repairs by establishing quality vendor relations.
- Create and review procedures for equipment and tool distribution and inventory management to maximize efficiency and minimize cost.
- Coordinate the delivery and transfer of equipment and tools.
- Work as a member of the Region's Leadership Team by attending, staff meetings, job site meetings and engaging in schedule discussions in order to help organize and plan for day-to-day project needs
- Recommend optimal equipment transportation modes, frequency and routing for equipment
- Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation and negotiate transportation rates and services
- Work closed with the MJE Leasing Department regarding scheduling of equipment maintenance and repair
- Oversee DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet
- Provide the oversight of equipment, tooling, materials, information, and finances as they move in a process from supplier (internal or external) to the job site or end user What You'll Bring
- Thorough knowledge of equipment and tooling used in the construction and maintenance of overhead transmission, overhead distribution and substations
- A strong understanding of inventory management concepts
- A strong understanding of DOT regulations & permitting
- Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks
- Ability to work independently
- Proven computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs
- High School diploma. Some level of formal education beyond High School in the areas of Accounting or Fleet Management would be preferred
- 4-7 years of Project Management, Inventory Management, Logistics, Fleet Management or Transportation experience in a utility construction environment What You'll Get
