Job Description

Overview Mason Dixon Energy Services, LLC is seeking a dedicated Transportation / Asset Manager who will optimize the use and management of physical assets and assist in growing the Company's Trucking Division. This role is critical for the success of our Company by helping to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency. This role is responsible for overseeing the procurement and optimal utilization of physical assets to ensure efficiency and profitability. This role will also coordinate the daily activities of the Trucking Department to ensure that all transportation tasks are executed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Management:
Identify and acquire the necessary heavy equipment, fleet, and tools that align with project requirements. This involves assessing organizational needs and selecting assets that maximize value while minimizing costs. Track the location, condition, and usage of all assets. Manage the inventory, GPS tracking, and deployment of fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and tools across multiple job sites. Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure prompt and appropriate response to maintenance and repair needs of the fleet. Analyze asset performance data to maximize utilization and efficiency. This involves ensuring that assets are used to their full potential and adjusting as necessary to improve productivity. Manage the disposal or replacement of assets that are no longer needed, functional, or cost-effective. This includes evaluating the condition of equipment and making informed decisions about when to retire or replace assets. Generate reports on equipment usage, asset performance, maintenance activities, and financial metrics related to asset management. This information is crucial for decision-making and strategic planning within the company. Ensure that all assets comply with safety regulations and industry standards. This includes conducting regular safety audits and ensuring that all equipment is safe for use on job sites.
Transportation Supervision:
Coordinate the daily activities of DOT drivers, ensuring that all transportation tasks are executed efficiently. Track shipments and coordinate any operational issues that arise. Create and manage driver schedules, assign routes, and ensure that all vehicles are safe and ready for use. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Review and approve driver time and vehicle inspections for accuracy and enforce safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure the safety of drivers and cargo. Manage driver performance, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and provide training on company policies and safety protocols. Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any issues related to driver conduct or compliance.
Requirements:
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Travel up to 30%
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and clients
  • In-depth knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
rules and regulations
  • Practical experience in transportation and logistics
  • Previous experience in civil or pipeline construction strongly desired
  • Technologically proficient
