A Loan Officer assists customers who apply for loans, and solicits loan applications on behalf of a bank, mortgage broker or other lender. Markets products and provides information on types of loans available, gathers financial and credit information needed to evaluate loan applications; guides the application and approval process. May specialize in loans to businesses or individuals, or in loans to buy real estate.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:
Originate self-sourced reverse mortgages and other mortgages as a Loan Officer and close at least two (2) loans a quarter. Obtain accurate and thorough 1009 and other application documents. Collect supporting documentation from borrower Obtain executed disclosures within regulations time frame. Analyze credit report and financial scenario, determining appropriate loan product(s). Determine (price) a profitable loan and communicate fees to ops team. Submit a complete loan package to processing. Review Closing Docs and participate in the closing when necessary Resolve file problems, bottlenecks and qualifying issues throughout production and underwriting process. Provide administrative support in the collection and preparation of submitting loan application with supporting documentation to processing. Visit assigned branches in person at least once per month. Provide Mentor services for assigned branch Loan Offices originating reverse mortgages. Coordinate, create, track and distribute marketing materials. Manage client and referral partner databases. Answer customer inquiries involving rates, products and loan application status to ensure quality customer service. Perform any other reasonable duties required by Guild Mortgage Company or Managing Loan Officer.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. At least two years of experience in Reverse Mortgage lending or related field. Active NMLS License. Able and willing to meet customers outside the branch. Able and willing to visit assigned branches once per month. Ability to manage multiple priorities; strong detail orientation and highly organized. Works with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness. Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service. Demonstrated patience and professionalism when interacting with both internal and external customers. Proficiency with data entry, PDF software programs, Microsoft Word, and Excel required.
