In this role, you will be the key point of contact for clients seeking mortgage solutions, guiding them through the loan process from application to approval. Your expertise in mortgage lending, industry regulations, and customer relationship building will help clients achieve their homeownership goals while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Responsibilities Engage with prospective clients to understand their financial needs and explain available mortgage options. Assist clients in completing loan applications accurately using Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and other financial software. Conduct credit analysis, income verification, and assess borrower eligibility in accordance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and fair housing regulations. Collaborate with underwriters, processors, and mortgage servicing teams to ensure smooth loan processing and timely approvals. Negotiate terms with clients while maintaining compliance with TILA (Truth in Lending Act), RESPA (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act), and other industry regulations. Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the loan process, providing exceptional customer service and support. Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and banking compliance standards related to mortgage lending and retail banking practices. Skills Strong negotiation skills paired with excellent client communication abilities. Proficiency in Mortgage Servicing systems, Loan Origination Systems (LOS), and accounting or financial software. Deep understanding of fair housing laws, TILA, FNMA guidelines, and banking regulatory compliance. Experience with credit analysis, underwriting procedures, and risk assessment in both residential and commercial lending contexts. Ability to perform basic math accurately, including 10-key typing skills for data entry. Proven track record in sales within financial services or retail lending environments. Exceptional relationship-building skills to foster trust with clients and industry partners. Knowledge of escrow processes, mortgage servicing procedures, and loan processing steps.
