Junior Mortgage Underwriter

The Junior Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for underwriting first mortgage conventional loan applications in compliance with secondary market guidelines. This role supports the growth ofMIDFLORIDA
Mortgage Center by ensuring accurate and timely loan decisions, while providing guidance and mentorship to processing staff. Junior Mortgage Underwriters perform the following functions: Review loan files for completeness and accuracy. Verify borrower documentation, including income, assets, credit, and property details. Assist in evaluating risk and determining eligibility based on program guidelines. Utilize Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS) such as DU and LP. Communicate with loan processors and originators to obtain missing documentation. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and investor regulations. Prepare files for final underwriting approval. Participate in training sessions to enhance underwriting knowledge. Serve as backup for other underwriters as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications Include:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum 2 years of mortgage processing or related experience. Strong knowledge of conventional mortgage products and lending regulations. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.MIDFLORIDA
