Job Description

An Internal Mortgage Loan Officer I is responsible to assist current and future members of ICCU with mortgage loan applications through the online channel, and through leads generated from the Financial Service Center, Member Contact Center, Member Relationship and Virtual Service Center teams. An Internal Mortgage Loan Officer I is also responsible for interviewing and qualifying members for loans within the requirements of the loan policies established by the Credit Union. They are expected to promote and cross sell Credit Union services, and to ensure member satisfaction through courteous, accurate, and efficient service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide excellent member service. Learn to assess risk and make sound lending decisions that are in line with the Credit Union's lending philosophy. Conduct thorough application interviews with members and non-members. Perform pre-approval analysis of new mortgage applications including, but not limited to: reviewing income documents, asset documents, tax returns, credit reports, Automated Underwriting System findings. Effectively communicate over the phone and through email in a professional, accurate, and timely manner with members by setting clear expectations throughout the loan process. Cross sell Credit Union products and services and maintain acceptable levels of Game of Work Sales. Continuous focus on meeting all Net Promoter Score goals and Eagle Service standards. Financial Service Center Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. 2-3 years of sales or customer service experience required or have completed two years with ICCU. Ability to cope with pressured situations. Knowledge of general lending policies, and federal regulations. Ability to make sound lending decisions. Understands Credit Union goals and objectives. Ability in math, 10 key, typing, and computer skills. Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records. Excellent communication and people skills.
Performance Standard:
A demonstrated cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff. Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Self-motivated and takes steps to continually expand knowledge of financial industry. Ability to maintain quality and pride in department. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by ICCU.
Physical Requirements:
Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.). Sit for extended periods of time. Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc. Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers. Reach keyboards. Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
