Job Description

Banking & Finance Associate (Grand Rapids)
Office Grand Rapids
Practice Area Finance
Date Posted Apr 28, 2026
Application Deadline Oct 30, 2026
Our Chambers‑ranked Banking and Finance Group works at the center of complex lending transactions for many of the country's most sophisticated financial institutions, along with an interesting variety of non‑traditional credit providers. We're known for strong technical work, sound commercial judgment, and a collaborative approach that clients and colleagues value.
The work is varied and engaging: commercial and industrial asset‑based finance, commercial real estate and construction lending, loan syndications, and a broad range of other credit arrangements. Matters are varied and fast‑moving, and associates are given meaningful responsibility with support from engaged partners who care deeply about both the work and the people doing it.
We're seeking an associate with 3-7 years of experience representing banks and/or other lenders in commercial finance transactions, including commercial/industrial, real estate, and construction financing. Ideal candidates will have experience drafting and negotiating loan agreements, collateral and third‑party documents, and conducting property, collateral, and entity due diligence. Candidates must be licensed in Michigan or eligible for admission by examination or waiver.
This is an in‑person position in our Grand Rapids office, joining a group that takes pride in doing excellent work in a respectful, down‑to‑earth environment.
We are accepting search firm submissions for this position.
