Job Description
AnnieMac Home Mortgage is looking to hire a Full Time Junior Underwriter to be responsible for the review and clearing of underwriting conditions for final approval and clear to close submissions under the supervision of an Underwriter or Senior Underwriter. This position will report to the Underwriting Manager though most daily direction will come from the Underwriter/Senior Underwriter and the Team Lead. Candidates should have experience directly related to the Mortgage Industry. Under the direct supervision of the Underwriting Team Lead, the job responsibilities of the Junior Underwriter position include, but are not limited, to the following: Review and analyze, in accordance with underwriting service level agreements, credit reports, income (including self employed), assets, sales contracts, appraisals and additional documents found in loan files. Assistance and training from the Underwriter will be provided. Communicate effectively with the processing team regarding questions on submissions and reasons why documents may not be acceptable. Review and analyze income from personal returns. Assistance and training from the Underwriter will be provided for business income and returns. Validate all conditions from the AUS have been properly met and loan is QM compliant. Analyze loan packages for any sign of fraudulent documentation or information. Remain informed of all government regulations, requirements and laws for both branch and broker submissions. Consult with the processing and closing department to ensure that all underwriting conditions are met prior to closing the loan. Review and clear all underwriting conditions prior to closing. Experience in the residential mortgage lending industry. Some knowledge of various investor guidelines and requirements. Ability to work in high energy environment and maintain focus.
