Description Position Summary:
The Consumer/Dealer Loan Underwriter 2 analyzes real estate and non-real estate secured consumer loan applications and indirect dealer auto loan applications and small business applications and makes a decision to approve, deny, or qualify the requests based on quality, profitability, and in compliance with established guidelines set forth by the bank, state and federal regulations.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate strong analytical skills and sound underwriting judgment including the analysis of non-wage income, business and personal financial statements and tax returns. Analyze and decision loan applications within low to moderate risk. Communicate decisions with customer service staff in a succinct and thorough manner. Maintain a high level of understanding of real estate secured loan requirements and valuation parameters. Serve as primary point of contact for branches on consumer loan regulations, special rate or product promotions and new product offerings. Develop dealership relationships and strengthen rapport by effectively communicating program requirements, credit decisions and providing prompt service. Maintain thorough understanding of competitor programs and rates and provide input for program enhancements. Assist the Sales Manager(s) as needed with in-person dealership meetings. Assist Underwriter I as needed. Understand and adhere to all applicable bank policies, laws, and regulations applicable to the role. Complete required compliance training. Follow internal processes and controls as required. Recognize, identify and report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations including fraudulent submissions in accordance with the steps defined in bank policy. Perform or assist with other job-related duties or special projects as assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent work experience required. At least 10 years consumer lending/underwriting experience strongly preferred. Understanding of auto dealership operations and financing preferred. Working knowledge of real estate lending preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and in working with other company software.

Working Environment:
Saturday and evening work schedule required. Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards. Some sedentary work and occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 20 pounds. This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines upon completion of onboarding.
