Job Description
- Guide qualified borrowers through the mortgage process from application through approval and closing.
- Meet with prospective borrowers to understand their financial background, homeownership goals, and lending needs.
- Educate customers on mortgage products, interest rates, regulations, required documentation, and application steps.
- Collect, review, and verify financial documentation while working closely with processors and underwriters.
- Proactively resolve issues that could delay the loan process and keep applicants informed throughout each stage.
- Build lasting customer relationships, develop referral opportunities, and maintain compliance with banking policies and regulations. Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $45,000 to $55,000 per year.

Location:
Charleston, SC. Required Qualifications and Skills- Guide borrowers through residential mortgage applications, approvals, and closings.
- Evaluate customer financial information and recommend appropriate mortgage lending solutions.
- Coordinate with loan processors, underwriters, and internal banking partners to meet documentation and closing deadlines.
- Maintain compliance with banking policies.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in mortgage lending or a closely related mortgage role.
- Associate degree or higher required.
- Strong knowledge of the residential mortgage lending process.
- Ability to review financial documentation and make sound lending recommendations.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines.
- Professional judgment, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with processors, underwriters, and other banking partners.
- Commitment to completing required compliance training and reporting suspected policy or regulatory violations. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer, Mortgage Specialist, or residential mortgage lender.
- Experience building referral relationships and maintaining long-term borrower connections.
- Strong understanding of mortgage products, interest rates, and customer education best practices.
