Commercial Escrow Officer

Escrow Job Summary Stonewall Title is seeking an experienced Commercial Escrow Officer to lead and manage a growing pipeline of commercial real estate transactions. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled closer to step into an existing and active book of business supported by both Stonewall Title Company and The Reid Firm's commercial real estate practice . This role is ideal for someone who thrives in sophisticated transactions, values strong relationships, and wants to be part of building the next chapter of a locally rooted, highly respected company. The right candidate will bring the experience, judgment, and confidence necessary to independently manage complex commercial files while delivering an exceptional experience to clients and partners. You'll step into: An existing book of commercial business Direct opportunity flow from The Reid Firm's commercial real estate practice A respected local brand with long-standing community and industry relationships Leadership that is committed to supporting and growing a true commercial desk The ability to help shape and elevate the future of commercial escrow within our company Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of assigned commercial escrow files from opening through closing, funding, and recording Handle a variety of commercial transactions, including: acquisitions and dispositions refinance transactions construction and development deals land transactions assignments exchanges entity and investor purchases Review contracts, title commitments, lender instructions, settlement statements, entity documents, and closing packages for accuracy and compliance Order, track, and coordinate all documents necessary to close each escrow in a timely and efficient manner, including payoff demands, loan documents, surveys, organizational documents, insurance, and closing authorizations Work closely with the title department, underwriters, attorneys, lenders, and clients to identify and resolve title and closing issues, including: legal descriptions easements vesting and entity authority tax liens and judgments bankruptcy matters survey or boundary issues access concerns development-related title matters Prepare or coordinate preparation of settlement statements, closing disclosures, and other closing-related documents Coordinate all aspects of closing between buyers, sellers, lenders, attorneys, brokers, and other parties involved in the transaction Maintain proactive, high-level communication throughout the life of each file Return calls, voicemails, and emails in a timely and professional manner Delegate appropriate tasks to escrow assistants and support staff while maintaining ownership of the file and overall client experience Follow company standards, underwriting requirements, internal procedures, and all applicable state and federal laws and guidelines Help strengthen and maintain client and referral relationships tied to the commercial desk Perform other duties as assigned by leadership QualificationsExperience Prior escrow experience required Significant commercial escrow experience strongly preferred Experience independently managing complex commercial closings is highly desirable Education High school diploma or equivalent required Additional education or training in real estate, title, finance, or business is a plus Certifications, Licenses & Insurance Must be a Notary Public or be eligible to become bonded as a notary Must hold Texas Escrow Officer License Valid state driver's license and automobile insurance required Knowledge Strong understanding of commercial escrow practices , title clearance, settlement procedures, and recording requirements Working knowledge of commercial lender requirements , loan documents, funding procedures, and closing conditions Familiarity with entity documentation, authority review, and vesting for LLCs, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other business structures Ability to identify and navigate title issues, endorsements, surveys, legal descriptions, and curative matters Knowledge of prorations, payoffs, interest calculations, tax adjustments, and closing figures Understanding of applicable state and federal regulations impacting escrow and real estate transactions Skills & Strengths Strong independent judgment High attention to detail Professional communication and client presence Ability to manage multiple sophisticated files at once Excellent organization and time management Confidence working with attorneys, lenders, developers, investors, and brokers Solution-oriented problem solving Dependable, proactive, and accountable Strong computer and software proficiency Commitment to professionalism, discretion, and client service
