First State Bank of Uvalde is recruiting an experienced Commercial Loan Officer to manage an existing loan portfolio and to be an integral part of our banks commercial lending team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Service and maintain a large existing commercial loan portfolio. Actively seek and promote new commercial loans and bank product opportunities within current loan portfolio and with new prospects. Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Positively represent the banks image/brand to customers, in the industry, professional associations, community/civic organizations, and local business groups. Effective management of the current loan portfolio to include obtaining updated financial/covenant information, evaluating the continued credit condition/repayment ability and collateral position. Be familiar with all types of collateral and the related detailed legal requirements to secure commercial loans. Make frequent outside calls to clients and prospects. Be a team player that builds rapport within the bank and with customers. Represent the banks 1907 circa legacy and its corporate mission, vision, and core values.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (accounting, finance, and/or business) and 10 or more years in commercial lending experience is preferred. Be able to become proficient with banks CORE loan and credit underwriting systems. Have strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills that provide the ability to work well with all levels of the organization. Have strong, accurate credit underwriting with equal financial and cash flow analytical skills. Able to work independently, multitask, adapt, prioritize, and find solutions as well as think and act proactively.
