POSITION SUMMARY

The Loan Transaction Assistant position may be the right position for you! The primary function of the Loan Transaction Assistant position is to provide administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the Mortgage Lending division. The position is best suited for an independent worker who excels in customer service and values working in a fast-paced environment. The Loan Transaction Assistant reports to the Deputy Director. This role provides administrative support only and does not include lending, underwriting, or approval authority.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily onsite: Conduct pre-screening of prospective clients and introduces My Way Home's mortgage lending services and products Schedule, confirm, and manage client appointments Work with Mortgage Loan Specialists and Loan Processors to ensure efficient loan processing including but not limited to gathering and preparing all documents needed to satisfy underwriting requirements, sending out verification request, validating documents for data integrity based on automated underwriting recommendation, keeping interested parties advised as to the status of the loan applications and other tasks as assigned Coordinate the request of additional information required from the client Answer and direct phone calls Take and distribute messages Handle inquiries for the Lending division Check and distribute documents and correspondence Maintain physical and electronic filing systems Photocopy, scan and fax documents Prepare and send outgoing mailings and packages Become familiar with loan origination software programs and client management programs (Calyx Point, Mortgage Office, Top of Mind and various investor portals) and update and maintain these databases Become familiar with all loan products, including but not limited to down payment assistance programs, government programs, conventional products, etc. Assist with front desk coverage as needed Represent My Way Home at community events, occasionally
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 2
years of administrative or customer service experience required. Experience in the mortgage industry is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred - speaking, reading, and writing Maintain strict confidentiality of client financial information, loan documents, and all sensitive data in accordance with federal and state privacy requirements Friendly and personable with a strong desire to help others Punctual and dependable A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised Solid social and communication skills Intermediate or advanced knowledge of office equipment, including PCs, printer/fax and Microsoft Suite Ability to quickly learn new client management systems and online platforms Demonstrate a genuine interest and enthusiasm for My Way Home's mission Flexible to accept new assignments as the need arises The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on business needs or special events.
