Job Description

The Commercial Loan Closer prepares, reviews, and facilitates the closing of commercial loans including commercial real estate loans, Construction, C&I, and SBA, ensuring compliance with legal and bank regulations. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing commercial loan documentation, coordinating with legal counsel, verifying loan files and closing requirements, and managing closing timelines to finalize loans accurately.
Primary Duties:
Review Commercial Credit Approval Memorandum to determine appropriate loan documentation requirements. Prepare and review all loan documentation and other relevant documents as required for commercial loans, including CRE, Construction, C&I and SBA. Work closely with loan officers, credit and commercial department, legal counsel, borrowers and third parties to obtain and review due diligence items required to close the commercial loans, and schedule and finalize loan closings. Review legal counsel prepared loan documentation for accuracy, completeness and conformity to the bank's policies and procedures. Review preliminary title reports, resolve any issues, and request the appropriate endorsements for the final policy. Verify that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, and complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Perform final reviews and quality checks on closing packages to ensure completeness and accuracy. Address and resolve any issues that arise during the closing process promptly to prevent delays. Review requests for appraisals to determine appropriate scope of work required for commercial loan appraisals. Obtain appraisal quotes and engage appraisals for commercial loans. Ensure that all appraisals are independent and engaged in accordance with bank policy and procedures. Initiate and follow all the requirements of the flood approval workflow Provide technical advice and assistance to commercial loan officers and other staff members, as needed. Is aware of and complies with regulatory guidelines and policies and the bank's policies. Any other duties that may be assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent work experience; Paralegal experience or related legal background (preferred). Two years of experience in commercial loan closing or relevant work experience in a legal, lending or banking environment or related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Critical thinking and evaluation skills. The ability to work well with others but can also work independently Accustomed to a fast-paced working environment Attention to detail; multi-tasking.
