Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Loan Specialist-Closer to join our dedicated financial services team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing the final stages of the loan process, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are meticulously completed to facilitate smooth loan closings. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional service to clients while adhering to industry regulations and internal policies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge of mortgage lending, underwriting, and loan processing in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence. Duties Review and verify all loan documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines, TILA (Truth in Lending Act), and Fair Housing regulations. Coordinate with underwriters, loan officers, escrow officers, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely loan closings. Prepare and review contracts, disclosures, and closing documents, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations. Conduct credit analysis and evaluate borrower financial information to confirm eligibility and support underwriting decisions. Manage the escrow process, including calculations for taxes, insurance, and other closing costs using basic math skills and 10-key typing proficiency. Ensure all loan processing steps are completed accurately within banking and mortgage servicing standards. Communicate effectively with clients to clarify documentation requirements and explain closing procedures. Experience Proven experience in loan origination or mortgage processing within the financial services industry. Strong knowledge of FNMA guidelines, underwriting procedures, and mortgage servicing practices. Familiarity with TILA regulations, contracts management, escrow procedures, and Fair Housing laws. Demonstrated ability in credit analysis, loan processing, and handling complex financial documents. Excellent math skills including basic calculations related to loans, escrow accounts, and amortization schedules. Proficiency in 10-key typing with high accuracy; experience with mortgage software systems is preferred. Prior experience as a loan officer or in banking environments that involved detailed contract review and compliance oversight.
