Loan Processor or Assistant

The Company is seeking a detail-oriented loan processor or loan department clerk to join its team.

Job Overview:

The Loan Processor is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and verifying mortgage loan applications from submission through closing. This role serves as the primary point of contact between loan officers, borrowers, brokers, title companies, and underwriters, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory and investor guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

 File Management — Receive new loan files, create and maintain checklists, and track pipeline status to ensure timely processing from application to closing.  Document Collection & Review — Gather and verify borrower documentation including income, assets, employment, credit, and property information; identify discrepancies and request corrections.  Third-Party Coordination — Order and review appraisals, home titles, flood certifications, VOEs, VODs, and other required verifications; follow up to resolve outstanding conditions.  Compliance & Quality Control — Ensure loan files meet federal, state, and investor requirements; prepare accurate disclosures within required timelines.  Underwriting Support — Submit complete loan packages to underwriting, address prior-to-doc and prior-to-fund conditions, and communicate status updates to all parties.  Closing Preparation — Coordinate with title companies and closing agents to prepare final figures, review closing documents for accuracy, and ensure funds are disbursed correctly.  Communication — Provide borrowers and loan officers with regular status updates; respond promptly to inquiries and resolve issues proactively.  Closing/Funding — Review signed loan documents for completion, and clear exceptions. Fund loans by printing checks and maintaining file stacking order.

Qualifications:

Requirements Experience 1-3 years in mortgage loan processing, underwriting support, or related lending operations Education High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred Software Proficiency with LOS platforms; MS Office suite Knowledge Familiarity with normal residential loan products; manufactured housing a plus Skills Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, written and verbal communication, ability to manage multiple files under deadline pressure • Bilingual abilities a plus Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
