Job Description

Position Overview Entry-level Underwriting Credit Assistant provides direct support to the Credit Manager and underwriting team by performing credit-related tasks, credit evaluations, and providing the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers. Experience with Business Development Center (BDC) functions, and general administrative duties is preferred. This role requires professionalism, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced financial environment, and dependability.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting & Credit Support Assist the Credit Manager in reviewing credit applications for completeness and accuracy. Gather, verify, and organize required customer documentation (income, references, ID, etc.). Perform preliminary credit evaluations using internal guidelines and credit bureau reports. Input application data into underwriting systems with a high level of accuracy. Communicate with customers or internal teams to clarify or obtain needed information. Track application statuses and follow up to ensure timely processing. BDC (Business Development Center) Tasks Make outbound and receive inbound calls to support credit processing, customer inquiries, and application follow-up. Assist in scheduling appointments and coordinating communication between customers and dealership personnel (if automotive environment) or applicable departments. Provide clear, professional customer service to ensure positive client experiences.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain organized electronic and physical records related to credit files and customer documents. Prepare reports for the Credit Manager and leadership as needed. Handle email correspondence, data entry, and general office support functions. Support departmental projects and process improvements as assigned.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty to a high standard. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required: Experience working in finance with financing. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Exceptional attention to detail. Strong multitasking ability and a track record of meeting multiple deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Strong customer service orientation with a focus on providing effective solutions. Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Education and Experience:
1-3 years working with finance and loans. High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree (A.A.) from a two-year college preferred. Two to four years of related experience or training required
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). The ideal candidate must be available to work M-F 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM and every other Saturday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. A day off each Thursday will be provided when the previous Saturday was worked. Candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
