This position is responsible for processing consumer loan applications, preparing loan documentation, funding loans, perfecting collateral, and assisting members throughout the lending process. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate seeking to develop a long-term career in consumer lending and financial services. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional member service. The Consumer Loan Processor will work closely with loan officers, members, dealerships, and internal staff to ensure loans are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and credit union policies. This position reports directly to the Consumer Lending Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process consumer loan applications including auto loans, personal loans, and credit cards. Review approved loan applications for completeness and accuracy. Prepare and process loan documentation using the credit union's core operating system and lending platforms. Fund approved loans and disburse proceeds accurately and timely. Communicate directly with members regarding loan status, required documentation, stipulations, and closing requirements. Perform title work and collateral perfection activities including lien filings and follow-up. Verify required documentation and ensure compliance with internal lending policies and regulatory requirements. Complete CIP (Customer Identification Program) and OFAC verification procedures. Maintain compliance with applicable regulations including, but not limited to, Regulation Z and other consumer lending requirements. Assist in identifying potential fraud concerns and escalate issues appropriately. Cross-sell credit union products and services that meet member needs. Maintain accurate loan records and documentation within the core system. Assist lending staff with administrative and operational support functions. Provide professional member service in person, over the phone, and through electronic communication channels. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Support branch and lending department goals and initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Education, and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous financial institution, lending, customer service, or administrative experience preferred but not required. Entry-level candidates with strong organizational and communication skills are encouraged to apply. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of consumer lending processes preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Ability to learn and navigate credit union software systems including CMC Flex. Strong interpersonal and member service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work Schedule Monday through
Friday:
8:00 AM to 5:00
PM Occasional Saturdays:
