Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
Gateway Title Company, under Fidelity National Financial (FNF) family of companies, is a leading provider of title insurance and settlement services, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth real estate transactions. We are looking for a Post Closer in Bangor, Maine to join our team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely completion of real estate transactions by reviewing and finalizing closing files after settlement has occurred.
LOCATION
This position will report into Gateway Title, Bangor branch
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Funding department to ensure timely funding of completed packages. Manage the Post-Closing inquiries of the Gateway Title branch ensuring timely communications with all parties in the transaction. Open packages, confirm contents and work through loan documents received. Perform quality control of packages received, follow-up with appropriate parties as needed for missing or incorrect items. Scan packages into software, distribute appropriately in compliance with requirements outlined by Company and/or lenders. Manage receipt of escrow funds for all transactions. Responsible for quality control assurance pending disbursements to ensure accuracy prior to funding. Monitor the banking system for incoming wires. Post incoming wires to escrow files when wires are received. Manage the timely payment and disbursement of payoffs, taxes, recording fees and other disbursements as outlined in the file. Correspond with all parties in the transaction to resolve funding issues and escalate as appropriate to management. Responsible for the timely disbursement of funds in accordance with lender requirements plus local and national escrow requirements. All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to review closing packages for accuracy. Ability to use PC and widely used software packages, e.g., spreadsheets/Excel, word processing/Word. Ability to learn new software packages as necessary or have experience with company operating system.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of title insurance regulations and industry best practices. Prior experience working at a real estate law firm or title company.
