Job Description
First International Bank & Trust is seeking a Loan Associate to support our lending team in Staples. This position plays a key role throughout the loan process by helping coordinate loan documentation, collateral processing, funding activities, and loan servicing support. Working closely with Loan Officers, Credit Analysts, Loan Operations, and customers, the Loan Associate helps ensure loans are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with bank requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with banking, lending, financial services, or administrative experience who is interested in building a career in commercial, agricultural, and consumer lending. Key Responsibilities Support Commercial, Agricultural, and Consumer Lending staff throughout the loan process. Gather, review, and maintain borrower, financial, and collateral information. Enter and update loan information within bank systems for documentation and underwriting purposes. Coordinate with Loan Officers, Credit Analysts, and Loan Operations to prepare and process loan documentation. Assist with loan closings, funding activities, and post-closing documentation. Ensure collateral and lien documentation is properly recorded and maintained. Monitor exception reports, ticklers, and outstanding documentation requirements. Scan, index, and maintain loan files in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Respond to customer inquiries and provide administrative support to the lending team. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in business, finance, accounting, office administration, or a related field preferred. One to three years of experience in banking, lending, financial services, loan processing, loan operations, title work, insurance, legal documentation, or a related administrative role preferred. Experience supporting Commercial, Agricultural, Consumer, or Small Business lending activities is preferred but not required. Experience preparing, reviewing, processing, or maintaining loan, collateral, financial, title, insurance, or other legal documentation preferred. Experience using Microsoft Office and business software applications required. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. Actual compensation will be based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and level of lending knowledge.
