Job Description
Overview Coordinate and complete the closing of first and second mortgage loans in accordance with established policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and investor guidelines. Responsibilities Prepare all closing documents required to close mortgage loans, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate; follow up on any discrepancies. Ensure that all loans meet guidelines for quality and regulatory compliance and investor closing standards. Maintain communication with customers, the processing department, closing agents, realtors, and builders to promote positive business relationships and communicate loan status. Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of all products and investor requirements to ensure quality closing packages and secondary market salability. Verify that loans close as scheduled. Review files prior to closing to verify that abstracts and/or title opinions are clear; forward copies to all parties involved; review all surveys, termite inspections, final inspections, and verify the accuracy of closing conditions. Close loans; input information into the loan origination system, prepare additional documentation, balance account for closing, prepare package for closing agent and/or customer, and ensures timely recording of all documents and disbursement of all funds. Prepare and explain closing requirements to closing agents and/or customer. Protect Bank collateral by reviewing and analyzing title work to verify that all liens are clear. Review and verify executed closing packages to ensure all documents are signed appropriately and all fees are included with the package. Maintain knowledge of all mortgage lending and compliance policies and procedures. Complete all required paperwork and forms in an accurate and timely manner; prepare all required reports. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of related experience required. Thorough working knowledge of real estate documentation, policies, compliance, and procedures. High level of proficiency with mortgage loan processing and underwriting systems. Experience closing mortgage loans in New York and New Jersey required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Excellent customer service skills.
