A Loan Documentation Specialist reviews applications for loans and assists with the process of evaluating loans. Prepares, organizes and verifies the documents and reports required for a loan application. Monitors the loan application and approval process and may assist customers with loan payments. May specialize in mortgage, business or other types of loans.
Fairfield, NJ Monday-Friday, Onsite Pay range: $45-60/hr Contract-to-hire after 6 months We're looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Lending Specialist to join our growing banking team. In this role, you'll oversee the commercial loan process from approval through closing and servicing, ensuring a smooth experience for both internal teams and customers.
Responsibilities:
Manage commercial loan files from approval through closing and servicing. Serve as the primary point of contact for Relationship Managers, borrowers, attorneys, and internal departments. Coordinate and review loan documentation to ensure complete and accurate files. Track loan pipelines and help ensure timely closings. Process loan funding, payments, draws, payoffs, and other servicing activities. Partner with operations teams to ensure loans are accurately booked and maintained. Identify and resolve issues before closing while ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures. Communicate loan status updates and assist with ongoing customer requests throughout the life of the loan.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 7+ years of experience as a Commercial Lending Assistant, Loan Processor, or in a similar commercial lending role. Experience with Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loan documentation preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking systems; nCino experience is a plus. Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
