Job Description
We are looking for a Mortgage Assistant to support a busy office in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and takes pride in producing accurate, well-organized work. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment when handling loan documentation, and the ability to manage a steady volume of administrative and operational tasks. This opportunity offers hands-on involvement in mortgage processing activities while working closely with a collaborative onsite team.
Responsibilities:
- Review mortgage files for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation before they move to the next stage of the process.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain loan application materials and supporting records in accordance with internal procedures.
- Assist with daily mortgage operations by tracking files, updating information, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Communicate with internal team members to resolve missing items, documentation issues, and processing questions.
- Handle a high volume of work efficiently while maintaining a strong standard of accuracy and consistency.
- Use Microsoft Office and other computer-based systems to enter data, manage documents, and support reporting needs.
- Prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced setting and adjust quickly as business needs change.
- Previous experience in the mortgage industry, mortgage banking, or mortgage operations is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of mortgage documents and mortgage application processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a sharp focus on detail and follow-through.
- Ability to complete tasks quickly without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
- Strong computer proficiency, including practical experience with Microsoft Office.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a detail-focused approach to onsite work.
- Flexible mindset with the initiative to take ownership of responsibilities and respond to shifting priorities.
