The Senior Mortgage Loan Processor will make a big impact by leading the way in the mortgage loan processing functions to ensure our members experience pursuing their home ownership goals exceed their expectations. This position is critical in managing mortgage and home equity files from origination through closing while maintaining compliance, communication, and service excellence.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Independently manage a pipeline of conventional, FHA, VA, and Home Equity loan files from origination to closing. Maintain accurate and timely data entry in Mortgage Operating System. Review AUS findings to verify applicant credit and employment and reserves other additional documentation to complete loan files. Reviews and analyzes qualifying income documentation, property valuations, assets, credit reports, and title findings. Orders additional documentation as needed to complete loan file. Coordinate appraisal orders, verifications of employment, and third-party services. Serve as the main point of contact for Members, Loan Officers, Underwriters, and Title Companies throughout the loan process. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including TRID, ECOA, NCUA, RESPA, HMDA, and SAFE Act requirements. Prepare files for underwriting review, ensuring all prior-to-doc (PTD) and prior-to-fund (PTF) conditions are satisfied. Take ownership of personal pipeline to meet departmental turn-time and quality goals. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience:
Five years to eight years of experience in a variety of loan products and efficiency with Mortgage Operating System. Experience with non-QM loan processing, strong understanding of investor and agency guidelines. Excellent knowledge of mortgage compliance, disclosures, and regulatory guidelines.
Education:
(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) strong knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA and home equity lending programs. (3) Current NMLS registration required or ability to obtain registration.
Interpersonal Skills:
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills:
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and Microsoft Office skills. Strong organization and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple files under strict deadlines. Familiarity with TRID compliance and secondary market/investor requirements as well as portfolio products. Problem-solving mindset and adaptability in a small-team environment. Proficiency with LOS platforms.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision, color vision, and ability to focus.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the office work environment is typically moderate.
Location and Schedule:
This position is required to work onsite at our Coors Bosque branch. Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week.
