Job Description
About the position We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Loan Processor to join our dynamic team in the financial services industry. The Junior Loan Processor will assist in the preparation and processing of loan applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while providing excellent service to clients. This role plays a critical part in our ability to meet high production demands and maintain timely processing. This is a full-time, in-office position based at our HQ in Melville, NY. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available. Responsibilities Collaborate with Senior Loan Processors to gather, review, and organize routine documents needed to satisfy underwriting conditions. Proactively follow up with borrowers and third parties to secure required documents promptly. Monitor and prioritize files based on urgency, closing dates, and file complexity to ensure timely movement through the pipeline. Update pipeline reports daily, providing clear visibility to Senior Processors and management on each file's status. Ensure all borrower documentation is accurately labeled, uploaded, and organized within systems. Conduct compliance and quality control checks on each file to confirm they meet regulatory standards and initial underwriting guidelines. Serve as a key point of contact for borrowers, providing status updates and answering basic questions. Enhance the borrower's experience by maintaining regular communication and setting expectations for timely submissions. Actively monitor files to identify bottlenecks and collaborate with team members to resolve issues quickly. Support the Senior Processor by handling administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on higher-level processing duties. Collaborate with Loan Officer Assistants, processors, and management to support team workflows. Requirements Experience in the mortgage industry is a plus but not required — we provide full training.
