Job Description

Mortgage Loan Processor Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and deadline-driven Loan Processor to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of loan files after underwriting approval, ensuring all conditions are accurately satisfied and the loan is fully cleared for closing. This position is critical to maintaining compliance, accuracy, and a smooth borrower experience from conditional approval through funding.
Key Responsibilities:
Review underwriter-approved loan files and clearly identify all outstanding conditions. Communicate required conditions to borrowers, loan officers, and third parties in a timely and professional manner. Collect, review, and verify documentation to satisfy underwriting conditions. Analyze updated documents (income, assets, credit, title, insurance, etc.) for completeness. Submit condition packages to underwriting for final review and approval. Coordinate with title companies, escrow officers, and closing departments to prepare files for closing. Maintain accurate loan status updates within the loan origination system. Manage pipeline deadlines to ensure on-time closings. Resolve issues proactively to prevent delays.
Qualifications:
2+ years of mortgage processing or underwriting experience. Strong knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and/or investor guidelines. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze financial documentation and identify discrepancies. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with loan origination systems and document management platforms. Ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working directly with underwriters to clear complex conditions. Strong understanding of guidelines and regulatory requirements. Problem-solving mindset with a customer-focused approach. Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Compensation:
$65,000 - $100,000 annually (base salary plus commission)
Requirements:
Must be able to commute to Birmingham, MI. Remote work is not available.
