About the Job Alderman's Automotive Group is looking for people with the highest level of integrity, a stable work history, a commitment to relentless customer satisfaction, and a desire for a long-term career. We want to be Vermont's Favorite Car Dealership, and that starts with being the best place to work. Job Purpose The Finance Assistant makes sure every deal is complete, accurate, and funded on time. This role owns the paperwork that moves between Sales, F&I, and Accounting. That means clean contracts, collected stipulations, lenders who have what they need, and customers' title and registration handled right the first time.
Our standard is simple:
when the Finance Assistant hands off a deal, the next person should need to ask nothing. Job Duties Audit every deal file before it leaves F&I. Check signatures, dates, and figures so they match across the buyer's order, retail installment contract, and product forms. Collect and submit lender stipulations, such as proof of income, residence, and insurance, and follow each contract through until it is funded. Track contracts in transit daily and escalate any aging deal to the F&I Manager. Process title, registration, and lien paperwork with the Vermont DMV and other states as needed. Track plates and temporary tags. Resolve lender funding conditions and contract rejections quickly and accurately. Contact customers about missing documents or signatures with courtesy and clarity, aiming to resolve the issue in one contact. Process product cancellations and refunds promptly and correctly. Prepare complete deal files for Accounting so deals post without rework. Maintain compliance records, including privacy notices, identity verification, OFAC and Red Flags checks, and record retention. Support F&I Managers with deal setup and credit application entry. Skills/Qualifications Exceptional attention to detail. You catch the error before it leaves your desk. Strong organization and follow-through on many open items at once. Clear, professional communication with customers, lenders, and coworkers. Comfortable with computers. Experience with a dealer management system (CDK, Reynolds, Tekion) or lender portals (RouteOne, Dealertrack) is a plus. Discretion with confidential customer financial information.
