Night Auditor - avid hotel

Elkhart Shift:

Overnight (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Employment Type:

Full-time / Part-time Position Summary As a Night Auditor at avid hotel, you are the heartbeat of the property during the overnight hours. This is a multi-functional role designed for a professional who can balance the precision of financial reconciliation with a passion for guest service. You will ensure that our guests feel safe and welcome while preparing the hotel for a successful new day. Key Responsibilities Financial & Administrative Excellence Audit & Reconcile:

Perform end-of-day duties including reconciling accounts, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, and generating essential daily reports for management.

Front Desk Operations:

Manage late-night check-ins and early-morning check-outs with speed and accuracy.

Record Keeping:

Maintain detailed records of guest interactions, reservations, and billing information within the property management system.

Administrative Support:

Answer phone calls with professional etiquette, respond to emails, and stay current on all brand-required training.

Guest Experience & Conflict Resolution Top-Tier Service:

Provide exceptional hospitality by addressing inquiries and resolving issues or complaints professionally and independently.

Disturbance Management:

Proactively handle noise complaints and guest disturbances with a calm, firm, and professional demeanor to ensure a restful environment for all guests.

Safety & Security:

Act as the primary point of contact for guest safety during the overnight shift, maintaining a secure and professional environment.

Team Collaboration:

Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and communicate essential shift information to the morning team.

Property Operations & Housekeeping Breakfast Leadership:

Set up the morning breakfast bar, ensuring all food and beverage items are stocked and inviting for our early-bird guests.

Public Area Care:

Keep the lobby and common areas tidy by removing trash, wiping down surfaces, and organizing furniture to maintain our "Essentials Done Right" standard.

Back of House Support:

Assist with laundry (washing, folding, and organizing) and other cleaning projects to support the housekeeping team.

Qualifications Experience:

Previous experience in hotels or the hospitality industry is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Familiarity with hotel software (PMS) and phone systems is a plus; general computer proficiency is required.

Conflict Resolution:

Proven ability to handle difficult situations or confrontational guests with tact and de-escalation skills.

Communication:

Excellent phone etiquette and the ability to handle various tasks with a calm, professional demeanor.

Reliability:

A high degree of punctuality and dependability is essential for this critical overnight role.

Detail-Oriented:

A sharp eye for detail and the ability to multitask in a quiet but productive environment.

Physical Ability:

Must be comfortable standing for long periods and performing light labor (laundry and trash removal).
