JOB SUMMARY
Serves as person in charge during night shift. Compiles and balances all cashier transactions of the day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include, but are not limited to: Responsible for recording all hotel cashier transactions i.e. room and food and beverage audits; reviewing, organizing and compiling management reports and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and general ledger transactions. Greet and register guests as necessary. Responsible for supervisory duties in the absence of the Front Office Supervisor. Perform normal duties as front desk clerk when not acting as night auditor. (see job description for front desk clerk). Performs other duties as assigned. Assist guest with purchase from the Gift Shop and compute and collect payment in Micros. Keep Gift Shop stock with merchandise.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies or members of the staff. Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables. Excellent math and communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; Knowledge or training in accounting; Prior experience necessary.
