Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing hotel operations during overnight hours, ensuring a smooth and accurate transition between business days. This role includes checking guests in and out, reviewing and reconciling daily financial transactions, and verifying that all accounts are accurate and properly balanced. The Night Auditor also prepares and distributes the nightly audit report, communicates key updates to management, and maintains a clean, organized front desk and lobby area. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Posts room charges and taxes to guest accounts including guest transactions not posted during the day by the front office cashier
- Processes guest charges voucher and credit card vouchers
- Posts guest charge purchase transactions not posted by the front office cashier
- Transfer charges and deposits to master accounts
- Verifies all account postings and balances
- Monitors the current status of coupons, discounts and other promotional programs
- Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages and other front office statistics
- Prepares a summary of cash, check and credit card activities
- Summarizes results of operations for management
- Summarizes and compiles daily information for the hotel's financial records
- Prepare an End of day procedure
- Run End of day process in property management software (PMS)
- Understand principles of auditing, balancing and closing out accounts
- Knows how to operate PMS and other front office equipment
- Understands how to perform check-in and check-out procedures
- Checks front office accounting records for accuracy
- Function as a front desk agent especially in terms of check-in and check-out procedures

University degree from a Hospitality related program preferred Knowledge of Choice Advantage system would be an asset Previous experience with computers would be an asset Previous experience in a service-related position would be an assetLANGUAGE SKILLS
Good command of the English language is essential, both written and verbal. Additional languages spoken would be an asset.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
