Non-Exempt Position Summary:
The Night Auditor is responsible for providing overnight front desk guest service while completing daily financial reconciliation and audit procedures. This position ensures guest accounts, payments, room charges, and hotel transactions are accurate before completing the hotel's daily financial close.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet, register, and assist guests during overnight hours. Complete guest check-ins and check-outs and process payments. Make, modify, and confirm guest reservations. Review and reconcile daily hotel transactions, payments, room charges, and guest accounts. Complete the nightly audit and end-of-day procedures. Identify and correct or report discrepancies in guest accounts and financial records. Prepare and organize Night Audit reports and required documentation for management review. Balance cash, credit card, and other payment transactions. Respond to guest questions, requests, and complaints during overnight hours. Monitor hotel activity and report safety, security, or operational concerns to management. Communicate important overnight issues to incoming front desk staff and management. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby area. All other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic accounting, mathematics, and cash-handling skills. Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Basic computer and property-management-system skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to remain professional and make sound decisions during overnight hours. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.Required Experience and Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous hotel front desk, night audit, accounting, or customer service experience preferred. Previous cash-handling or payment-processing experience preferred.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods. Ability to operate computers, telephones, and front-office equipment. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.Working Conditions:
Hotel front desk and lobby environment. Primarily overnight work schedule. Frequent interaction with hotel guests. Requires availability for overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.Pay:
$13.00 - $14.00 per hour Expected hours: 22.0 per weekWork Location:
