Job Description We are assisting a publicly traded company with their search for a VP, Senior Payroll Manager. This position is onsite located in Glendale, CA.
Compensation:
$150,000 - $200,000
Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions and pay groups. Ensure timely and accurate payroll execution while adhering to applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Coordinate payroll reviews, account reconciliations, and year-end reporting activities, including tax-related filings and documentation. Develop, implement, and maintain effective payroll controls, compliance procedures, and audit readiness practices. Manage employee equity compensation programs, including stock-based awards and employee purchase plans, while maintaining accurate records. Handle equity-related activities such as award issuance, vesting events, exercises, settlements, and adjustments. Ensure appropriate tax treatment, reporting, and compliance for equity compensation transactions. Assist with financial reporting and reconciliation of stock-based compensation activity and related expenses. Stay informed of legislative and regulatory developments affecting payroll and equity administration and recommend necessary updates.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree 10+ years of payroll experience, including team leadership and operational oversight. Strong expertise in U.S. payroll tax laws, compliance requirements, and multi-state payroll administration. Experience administering equity compensation programs and stock-related transactions a plus Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
