Administrative Assistant / Payroll Manager - Mason City CSD

Opening for 2026-2027 Administrative Assistant - Payroll Manager This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer/Finance Director and is responsible for performing and supervising all activities necessary to process payrolls accurately and timely, including related records, documents and special reports. Essential duties include, but are not limited to: Starting wage $20.48/hour, DOQ Compliance with all state and federal payroll regulations. Process involuntary and optional deductions including IPERS withholdings. Maintain all payroll records including paid leaves. Primary administrator for the timeclock system. Computing wage and overtime payments. W-2 generation and distribution.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a High School Diploma; preference given to those with an AA/BA. Minimum one year administrative assistant experience; preference of two or more years. Preference given to those with direct experience in the essential functions of the job. Strong oral and written communication skills. Extensive experience in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and online applications.
