Job Description
Summary/Objective RM Mechanical employs approximately 500-600 individuals across several states. The payroll manager works with the Corporate Controller to perform payroll weekly. You may also assist in other roles, for example, HR, AP, or AR. You may perform the following functions: Prepare and submit paper payroll checks for employees who do not have direct deposit Collect banking information for direct deposit setup and initiate deposits on paydays Familiarize yourself and keep current with the taxation of salaries, benefits and other factors Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications Maintain and document all payroll records Conduct semi-annual audits of all payroll records Reconcile general ledger with regard to payroll transactions Detect and process issues related to uncollected payroll Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns Assist with accounts payable data entry Human resource tasks such as on-boarding, off-boarding, insurance management, filing and paying employee garnishments, responding to unemployment claims, and other assigned tasks Communicates directly with employees and works with Company Controller to perform weekly payroll Other duties as assigned Reports to Controller Essential Skills Problem Solving/Analysis Attention to detail Analytical skills Flexibility Thoroughness Ethical Conduct Qualified Candidates High School Diploma Preferred Candidates Associate degree in accounting Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially excel Accounting ERP is Viewpoint One, familiarity with it or similar ERP is a plus Work/Job Type This job operates in a professional office environment. Full-time position. Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5pm with 1-hour lunch.
