Our dedicated staff support individuals in 20 plus communities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. The Payroll & Benefits Manager will oversee and supervise the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitates audits by providing reports, records, and documentation to auditors. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures. Audits payroll data to ensure accuracy, reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger, and facilitate internal/external audits. Resolves complex payroll discrepancies and address employee queries related to pay, benefits, and taxes Maintains payroll systems, HRIS, and time-tracking software, including updating systems to improve efficiency. Manages payroll tax filings, garnishments, and employee deductions to adhere to legal standards (e.g., ERISA, FLSA). Assists with the administration, compliance, and daily management of Delta's employee health and welfare benefit programs
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive hands-on experience with and knowledge of UKG Ready required Minimum of five years of payroll administration experience required Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Proficient with payroll software Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred Qualifying criminal background screening Excellent verbal and written communication skills
