Job DescriptionJob Description Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Payroll Manager on behalf of our client, a healthcare management company. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll operations across a complex, multi-entity environment. The Payroll Manager will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain compliance with multi-state tax regulations, and support audits and system transitions while leading a team and driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day payroll operations and supervise payroll staff Manage bi-weekly payroll cycles across several entities with multiple pay schedules Process payroll directly as needed to maintain hands-on knowledge of systems and workflows Review payroll accuracy, ensure deadlines are met, and resolve employee payroll issues Lead multi-state payroll tax processing, filings, reconciliations, and account management Support audits including CMS, 401k, workers compensation, and payroll-based journal reporting Manage payroll reporting, bank reconciliations, and 401k administration Support payroll system updates, testing, and migration from Infor Lawson V10 to CloudSuite V11 Work across multiple time and attendance systems and integrations to ensure accurate data flow Maintain strong internal controls and compliance within a high-volume payroll environment Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy Requirements include:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred
Experience:
5+ years of payroll experience with leadership or management responsibilities Experience managing payroll in a multi-entity, multi-state environment Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred Experience with high-volume, complex payroll structures
Skills:
Strong knowledge of payroll systems, preferably Infor Lawson or CloudSuite Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and competing priorities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in payroll reporting, reconciliations, and compliance Excellent communication and team leadership skills Ability to navigate multiple systems, integrations, and data exports
Certifications:
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred but not required
Knowledge:
Multi-state payroll tax laws and compliance requirements (TN, FL, VA, SC, NC, LA) Payroll audits, reporting, and regulatory requirements Time and attendance systems and payroll integrations Payroll accounting, reconciliations, and internal controls
